Browning L200 Review
Having had a string of Mitsubishi L200’s over the years from the very first incarnation, I was interested to see the new L200 Browning. This vehicle could have been designed specifically for shooting! With car like comfort inside, including Browning leather seats, air conditioning and all the toys, the outside has three huge advantages for the game shooter as standard; Browning alloys with All Terrain tyres, colour coded glazed lockable canopy and Mitsubishi’s new Active Stability & Traction Control. This latter four wheel drive technology is truly astounding! Shift on the fly 4 X 4 selection, permanent 4 wheel drive if required, selectable traction control and diff locks for when things get really sticky, this really does give the driver go anywhere confidence. This in conjunction with the new five speed automatic gearbox (optional) with selectable sequential transmission if required gives great all round versatility. The new 175bhp turbo diesel power unit also means it is no slouch…
I like the pick up format as you can chuck all your grubby gear and dogs in the back without worrying about the mud, whilst enjoying the in car comfort – just hose the back out when you get home! I travel all over the country for my shooting and surely the biggest test of any shooting vehicle is on the grouse moor. If it can get through soft peat and straddle large rocks, then it has to be worth a look. For me, the Browning L200 is comfortable, rugged and above all capable. It looks the part and does what it says on the tin with aplomb.
