Rules for shooting during the November lockdown

The following information was released by BACS after consulting with ministers, MPs and civil servants regarding the national lockdown:

All driven game shooting should cease from operating on Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December. Once the lockdown has ended England will return to a tier based system. BASC is lobbying to ensure that driven game shooting can continue in a Covid-19 safe way, once lockdown ends.

Game management and gamekeeping activities may continue during lockdown.

Essential bird and pest control may continue to protect crops and livestock during lockdown.

Rough shooting, wildfowling and deer management may continue during the lockdown period. This includes making a short journey to your place of exercise.

BASC have advised “When shooting during lockdown, we would advise taking a copy of your shotgun or firearms certificate with you and paperwork for your permission to shoot on the land your are on.”
